Kathelijne de Vrijer
Kathelijne de Vrijer (b. 1994) works at Universiteiten van Nederland as a policy adviser in the Education department, where she focuses on themes related to student well-being and the binding study advice (BSA). She is also the programme secretary of the national programme team for Rewards and Recognition of academics.
Kathelijne graduated from the University of Groningen (UG) with a degree in History, specialising in politics and policy. In the city of Groningen, she taught history at a secondary school as a guest teacher and worked at the UG, spending three years with the Strategy Department of Education & Research and one year as a student assessor for the Board of the University. She studied briefly at the Universidad de Salamanca, and during her final research project investigating academic freedom at the modern university, she did a work placement with the University Museum.
