Babs van den Bergh

Babs van den Bergh (b. 1964) is the director of the Universiteiten van Nederland. She works with the Universiteiten van Nederland Board to determine the strategy of the association and translate it into the work programme for the office, which she manages.

Babs studied Philosophy at Utrecht University, specialising in Ethics, with a second specialisation in Chinese (at Leiden University). She also holds a Master in Knowledge Management from TIAS. Babs previously worked for the Advisory Council for Science and Technology (now the AWTI) and served as Director of Research and Science Policy at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as Head of Academic Affairs at the University of Amsterdam.
